G.I.F.T. - GROWING "I" FROM TODAY
Growing I From Today (G.I.F.T) engages participants by utilizing creative self-expression through the arts to improve mental well-being. The main objective of the program is to reduce isolation, build self-esteem and confidence while promoting a sense of value and inclusiveness. The Starfish Collective engaged community participants through visual art, theater, movement and music to identify core strengths and stressors while building individual health literacy through self-examination.
In an immersive, hands on art program participants reflected on the past, present and future to build their individual story board, while sharing their unique cultural heritage. Through visual art they created a pop up story book, through theatre they found words to bridge the emotions from heart to paper. Through movement they expressed what sometimes cannot be put into words and through music they sang the songs of the spirit.

Growing the 'I' is essentially enabling the eye of the heart to refocus on our dreams. Dreams that lie nestled in the compressed folds of life are brought to the surface of a canvas through the power of visualization.
